Happy Tuesday friends,
On Friday, we talked about stress that depletes, the kind that disguises itself and drains your connection.
Today, let's talk about stress that fuels.
I've been reading Tim Ferriss' The 4-Hour Work Week, and his take on eustress completely reframed how I see challenges:
"Eu-, a Greek prefix for “healthy”, is used in the same sense in the word “euphoria”. Role models who push us to exceed our limits, physical training that removes our spare tires, and risks that expand our sphere of comfortable action are all examples of eustress—stress that is healthful and the stimulus for growth."
This idea changes everything. Eustress is beneficial stress that sharpens you instead of wearing you down. It's the difference between feeling crushed by challenges or energized by them.
Here's the key: movement is a way to activate it.
Physical activity is one of the most effective ways to cultivate eustress, creating beneficial stress that strengthens you instead of draining you. When you move together and rest together, you build resilience as a team.
Movement doesn't only release tension when life gets heavy; it generates the momentum that transforms how you see what's in front of you.
A big 2026 starts now

On beehiiv, you can launch your website in minutes with the AI Web Builder, publish a professional newsletter with ease, and even tap into huge earnings with the beehiiv Ad Network. It’s everything you need to create, grow, and monetize in one place.
In fact, we’re so hyped about what you’ll create, we’re giving you 30% off your first three months with code BIG30. So forget about taking a break. It’s time for a break-through.
Here's your reset for this week:
If you're exhausted:
Take 5-7 minutes to stretch together. Stand side by side or facing each other. Stretch your arms overhead, roll your shoulders back, reach down to touch your toes. Breathe in sync: inhale together for 4 counts, exhale together for 6. This isn't about performance; it's about presence.
But if you can (and you should):
Take a 10-minute walk together without phones or an agenda. Let your bodies release what your minds have been holding.
(Trust us: eventually, 10 minutes won't be enough. You'll want more.)

Sync-Up Prompt
Ask each other this:
"How has being 'realistic' or 'responsible' kept us from the life we want together?"
Not as a criticism; as an invitation. What small risks have you been avoiding? What dreams have you shelved because they didn't feel practical?
What would change if you saw those challenges as eustress, beneficial stress that could fuel your growth instead of draining your energy?
Stress isn't the enemy. Unprocessed stress is.
When you move together, you're not just managing stress; you're transforming it. You're teaching your nervous system that challenges are something you can handle together.
That's how resilient couples don't just survive life’s seasons; they thrive in them.
Use movement as momentum to start building from here.
